This course is needed because Eastern Orthodox people represent a significant and often misunderstood group worldwide, with unique beliefs and cultural ties that differ from Western Christianity. Many Christians encounter Orthodox friends, neighbours, or colleagues and want to share the Gospel clearly and respectfully but often lack understanding of Orthodox theology and culture—this course bridges that gap and equips them for meaningful conversations.

This course explains the beliefs, worldview, and cultural background of Eastern Orthodox people in order to clearly share the Gospel with them. It offers practical strategies for meaningful conversations and Bible studies that help challenge Orthodox people with the Gospel.

  • Anyone who loves and serves the Lord Jesus, who understand that the Gospel is the only way of salvation and so recognise the urgency of presenting it to all people everywhere.
  • Those with friends and neighbours who were born Orthodox or have converted to Orthodoxy.
  • Christians who want to understand Eastern Orthodox beliefs and learn how to share the Gospel with Orthodox friends, family, or neighbours

No prior knowledge is required; the course is designed to introduce and explain key Orthodox beliefs and practices

  • As an intensive over a weekend
  • The course comes with all the required content. 
  • Each module has an introductory video to screen at the start. This is followed by a group time. 
  • There are 8 modules that each take about 60-75 minutes to complete
  • Under the resources tab there are Talk Outlines to help follow the video and take notes together with group time notes for participants and leaders.
  • Leaders should have some experience in leading Bible studies, and they should acquaint themselves with the leaders notes before each module.
